An electrical warrant of fitness (EWOF) is essential for keeping caravans, motorhomes, boats, and other transportable structures safe when connected to mains power. In New Zealand, a current EWOF is often a legal requirement before you can plug in at a campground, marina, or holiday park. What an EWOF involves
An EWOF is similar to a vehicle warrant of fitness, but for your electrical system. It confirms that wiring, outlets, fittings and safety devices are working correctly and won’t create hazards such as electric shock or fire.

How long an EWOF lasts
An EWOF is valid for four years from the month of issue. Once it expires, a new inspection must be carried out by a registered electrical inspector.
